We understand that the COVID-19 situation is presenting many challenges to our lives. We want to alleviate some of these burdens while also keeping you and our staff safe. Here is an update to what is happening at Inspection Works.

Clients

Out of abundance of caution, we are following the latest Government of Alberta recommendations. To protect those attending the inspection against possible exposure to the virus, we will wear masks when we are in the property, particularly when it is difficult to keep two metres apart. We respectfully ask that you do the same.

We will have supplies available for your use should you choose to use them, including soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, nitrile gloves, and a trash receptacle.

If you are uncomfortable being there in person, we are happy to do a final walkthrough via videoconference (FaceTime, WhatsApp, Google Duo, etc.). Just let us know! If you choose to participate in the walkthrough via videoconference, we ask that you be available in a window between 1 and 3 hours after the start time of the inspection. For Example, if the official start time is at 9:00 AM, please be available between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

Please choose the videoconference option if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath, or are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Buyer’s Agent

We ask that you please stay outside of the home or in your vehicle if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath, or are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

Seller’s Agent

We normally show up 30 minutes before the inspection time to get started on the exterior. We ask that the seller vacate the property at least 15 minutes before we arrive (45 minutes prior to the scheduled inspection time). If the property is occupied, please ask the seller if they have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath, or are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19. If so, please let us know.

During inspections we will:

• set up a sanitary work station and wash our hands upon entering the home,
• if available, keep hand sanitizer nearby and use it when needed,
• not shake hands or bump fists,
• avoid touching our faces,
• when possible, keep a 2 metre distance from others in the home, and
• wear a face mask when other people are in the home, or if requested by the seller.

Our schedule has not changed so far, although it may change as more best practices around COVID-19 become available. Rest assured, we will do everything we can to keep you and our greater community safe.
